Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the third term for the National Democratic Alliance implies that his government will put in thrice the effort and deliver three times the outcome as compared to his previous two terms. “India is in a position today where it is competing with itself. Our goal is to break the records that we have set in the past 10 years. We shall leave no stone unturned to make India a developed nation by 2047,” the Prime Minister said while replying to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in the Lok Sabha.

“Our third term means we will work at three times the speed, we will put in three times the energy. Our third term means we will give three times the results to the people of the country,” the Prime Minister said.

“I assure the countrymen that we have taken the resolution of Viksit Bharat and we will make efforts to fulfil that resolution and we will do it with full dedication and honesty and we will spend every moment of our time to fulfil this resolution,” PM Modi said.

Taking on the Opposition which created a ruckus during his address, PM Modi said that it is for the first time in Congress’ history that it has been defeated for the third consecutive Lok Sabha election. “It would have been nice if they accepted defeat with grace and delved into the reasons and did some introspection. However, they have instead sought to portray themselves as the winners in this election,” the PM said.

The Prime Minister said that there was a time before 2014 when the words “Is desh ka kuch nahi ho sakta” had settled in the minds of the people of India. The society, he said, was drowned in the depths of despair. “Then, the people of the country chose us to serve them and that moment started the era of change in the country.

“In the last 10 years, my government has had many successes, many achievements, but one achievement which filled everyone with strength, was to pull the country out of the depths of despair and stand with hope and faith, self-confidence was built in the country…The country started believing, those who used to say before 2014 that nothing can happen, started saying that anything can happen in this country, everything is possible in this country, we did the work of instilling this confidence,” he added.
