HCLTech in collaboration with IBM announced the establishment of a new Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE). This initiative is set to leverage the IBM watsonx AI and data platform and will be accessible through HCLTech’s AI and Cloud Native Labs located in Noida, London, New Jersey, and Santa Clara.
The GenAI CoE aims to assist enterprises in modernizing legacy applications, developing IT service management (ITSM) use cases, reducing coding complexity, and improving skill development on the IBM watsonx™ platform. This center is designed to enable continuous innovation and enhance digital skills crucial for increasing enterprise productivity.
Alan Flower, EVP and Global Head of AI & Cloud Native Labs at HCLTech, said: “This expansion of our work with IBM will facilitate rapid exploration of AI’s potential as we create highly differentiated HCLTech offerings using the latest IBM technology. We plan to embed watsonx in HCLTech AI Force with GenAI-powered solutions to support code modernization.” He added, “Additionally, we plan to help our clients accelerate GenAI adoption through AI facilitated by watsonx while enhancing digital skills for enterprise productivity through the implementation of watsonx Orchestrate.”
As part of this strategic partnership, HCLTech and IBM are set to train 10,000 of HCLTech’s engineers and architects in innovative AI technologies, specifically those related to watsonx. This effort is part of the CloudSMART for IBM initiative, which supports businesses in achieving continuous innovation by utilizing advanced technologies and the latest business and technology insights.
