Parliament Session Live Updates: The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die after it cleared the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address on Tuesday after 18 hours of discussion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address in the Lok Sabha amid ruckus by the Opposition. The Prime Minister thanked the people for reposing their faith in the NDA for a third successive term. The PM also took on the Opposition and accused the Congress of conspiring to defame Hindus. The Prime Minister said that the Opposition should stop trying to appease one leader with a pretense of victory and instead introspect on the reasons for its loss despite joining forces.
The PM also touched upon the issue of paper leaks and said that a strong law has been enforced and tough measures are being discussed to provide a solution to the issue.

The Lok Sabha has cleared the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address by a voice vote after two days of debate. The Motion was taken up for voting after Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s reply.
Prime Minister Modi expressed his condolences to the families of those who died in the stampede in UP’s Hathras. He said that the authorities are involved in rescue operations. The Prime Minister said that all possible assistance will be provided to the bereaved families and those injured.
PM Modi today broke silence on the issue of paper leaks and said that the Centre has enforced a new law against paper leaks and that the government is taking tough measures in the matter. He also cited arrests in the NEET paper leak matter and said the government was treating the issue with utmost seriousness.
Responding to the remarks by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi that “people who call themselves Hindus are spreading violence”, PM Modi today said that the people of the country need to guard against the “conspiracy” to defame Hindus by levelling false allegations against them.
PM Narendra Modi said that the Congress and its ecosystem have made it fashionable to mock Hindus and the nation must caution themselves against such propaganda.

PM Narendra Modi says, “An attempt has been made to spread anarchy by questioning the democratic process of India. The politics that was spread regarding CAA, the game of misleading the people of the country, all efforts were made to emphasise that their political motives are fulfilled. Efforts have been made to push the country into riots. A new drama has been started these days to gain sympathy. A new game is being played…”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said, “In the last 10 years, we have taken India‘s economy to number 5 from number 10. Now, we will take the country’s economy to number 3. In the last 10 years, we have made India a big manufacturer of mobile phones, made India a big exporter of mobile phones. Now, we are going to do the same thing in semiconductors and other sectors in our tenure. The chips that will be useful in important works of the world, those chips will be prepared on the soil of my India…”
“This is the third biggest defeat in the history of Congress. It would have been better if Congress had accepted its defeat and respected the mandate of the people but they are busy doing some ‘Sirsasana’ and Congress and its ecosystem are trying to establish in the minds of the citizens of India that they have defeated us…Bachhe ka mann behlane ka kaam chal raha hai,” PM Modi said.
“Have to tell Congress to not drown people’s mandate in celebration of ‘fake victory’, it should accept people’s mandate,” PM Modi said.
Mocking Congress over the election results, PM Modi also took a Sholay jibe at the grand-old party.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, “…The people who worship Article 370, those who have made it a weapon of vote bank politics, had made the condition of Jammu and Kashmir such that they had snatched the rights of the people there. The Constitution of India could not enter the borders of J&K and the people who dance around with the Constitution on their heads here do not have the courage to implement it in J&K…It was the era of 370, stones were pelted on the Army and people used to say in despair that now nothing can happen in J&K. Today the wall of Article 370 has fallen, stone pelting has stopped, democracy is strong and people are coming forward in large numbers to vote, trusting the Constitution of India, trusting the flag of India, trusting the democracy of India. It is clearly visible, that this confidence has been created in 140 crore countrymen…”
PM Narendra Modi took a dig at Congress‘s performance in the recently conducted Lok Sabha elections and said, “The people of this country have given a mandate to the Congress in the 2024 elections and the mandate of this country is that you sit there, sit in the opposition and when the arguments end, keep shouting.”
PM Narendra Modi said, “Our third term means we will work at three times the speed, we will put in three times the energy. Our third term means we will give three times the results to the people of the country.”
Taking a dig at Congress amid Opposition sloganeering, PM Modi said, “It should be noted that this is also the third time that Congress has been unable to cross the 100-seat mark in Lok Sabha elections.”

“There was a time before 2014 when terrorists could come and attack wherever they wanted. Innocent people were killed, every corner of India was targeted and the governments used to sit quietly. 2014 ke baad ka Hindustan ghar mein ghus kar maarta hain,” PM Modi said.
PM Narendra Modi said, “…I assure the countrymen that we have taken the resolution of Viksit Bharat and we will make efforts to fulfil that resolution and we will do it with full dedication and honesty and we will spend every moment of our time to fulfil this resolution.”
“We sought people’s blessings in these (Lok Sabha) elections to fulfil our ‘sankalp’ of ‘Viksit Bharat’. The public strengthened the resolve of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and helped us win, giving us another chance to serve them. When a country is ‘viksit’ (developed), the dreams of thousands get fulfilled. When a country is ‘viksit’ (developed), it helps in fulfilling the dreams of our future generation,” PM Modi said.

PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday said, “If we remember those days of 2014, we will realise that the people of our country had lost their self-confidence. The country had drowned in the abyss of despair. At such a time, before 2014, the biggest loss that the country had suffered was the loss of self-confidence of the countrymen and when trust and self-confidence are lost, it becomes difficult for the person, the society, the country to stand up.”
“For some time, it used to come out from the mouth of a common man that ‘nothing can happen to this country’. These words of frustration of Indians had become a kind of identity. For some time, when we used to open the newspaper every day, we used to read only news of scams,” he added.
During his address, PM Modi in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday invoked the surgical and air strikes that were carried out by the security forces earlier during his regime and said that his government has no “tolerance” against terrorism.
During his address, PM Modi said, “Earlier, there were scams to whitewash other scams, Poor has to pay a bribe to get home. The country has blessed us for our zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. Today India‘s credibility has increased across the world…The sole aim of our every policy, every decision, every action has been India first.”
During his address, PM Modi said, “The country has crossed a successful election campaign and showed the world that this was the world’s biggest election campaign, in which people of the country have chosen us. I can understand the pain of some people that despite speaking lies, they faced crushing defeat.”
“I am present here to reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address. Our President, in her speech, has detailed our resolve of Viksit Bharat. The honourable President has raised crucial issues, she has guided us and the country,” PM Modi said in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
During his reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address to a joint sitting, PM Modi said, “Appeasement politics has destroyed this nation. This time appeasement politics has been rejected.”
As Opposition members gathered in the Well of the House amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s address, Speaker Om Birla called out the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for encouraging the protests. “This behaviour is against the spirit of your post and the House,” Om Birla said.
Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting a debate in Parliament on the NEET issue on Wednesday.
“Our aim is to engage constructively in the interest of 24 lakh NEET aspirants who deserve answers. I believe that it would be fitting if you were to lead this debate” the letter read. (ANI)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his address amid ‘Please save Manipur’ sloganeering and ruckus by the Opposition leaders in Lok Sabha.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday started addressing the Lok Sabha in his response to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address.
AIMIM MP from Hyderabad, Asaduddin Owaisi in Lok Sabha on Tuesday said, “Is this social justice that only 4 per cent of Muslims win and come (to the Parliament)… In this House, the number of OBC MPs is equal to the number of upper caste MPs… And out of 14 per cent Muslims, only 4 per cent win… After June 4, six Muslims have been mob lynched. 11 homes in Madhya Pradesh have been bulldozed. In Himachal Pradesh, a shop of a Muslim was looted…”
On portions of Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi‘s speech expunged, Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury said, “Why did they expunge? What was it that they found so intense? Whatever Rahul Gandhi said is right. I am saying it as a Hindu that a real Hindu is not violent. These people are beating the drums and saying that this is wrong and that is wrong… Mallikarjun Kharge’s speech was also expunged. They are doing whatever they want. They are running the House at their will… We will make them listen to the voice of the people…”
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh said he does “not support the President’s address because of a few issues.”
“The President thanked the Election Commission, but what should we thank them for? For not adhering to the Model Code of Conduct? For not conducting Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir? The recently held Lok Sabha elections were not fair,” Singh said.
“Can we leave the mother of democracy at the mercy of EVMS? When the Resreve Bank’s of India’s servers can be hacked, how can we be sure that the EVMs cannot be hacked? Why is the EC not ready to talk about EVMs,” he asked.
In the Rajya Sabha too, stormy scenes were observed, where Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge led the charge, the opposition clashed with JP Nadda on issues like alleged irregularities in the NEET medical entrance tests and the row over relocation of national leader’s statues within the Parliament complex.
