Kalki 2898 AD Day 5 Box Office Collection: Kalki 2898 AD, the highly anticipated sci-fi epic starring Prabhas, hit theaters worldwide last Thursday, marking its entry into the box office race with a formidable start. By the end of its fourth day in cinemas, the film had already garnered an impressive Rs 555 crore in global collections. However, the beginning of the week saw a noticeable decline in its earnings.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD managed to gross Rs 34.6 crore nett in India on its fifth day, bringing its domestic total to Rs 343.6 crore after just five days. This figure indicates a significant drop from its Sunday collections, where it earned Rs 88.2 crore, reflecting a decline of over 60 percent.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD was released in multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film has particularly resonated well in the Telugu market, where it initially made substantial gains. On Sunday, the Telugu version of Kalki grossed Rs 38.8 crore, but this figure fell sharply to Rs 14.5 crore on Monday, a decline of 62.6 percent, with an occupancy rate of 47.18 percent.
In the Hindi market, the film also experienced a similar trend. After earning Rs 40 crore on Sunday, Monday’s collections dropped to Rs 16.5 crore, marking a decrease of 58.7 percent. As of now, Kalki 2898 AD has accumulated Rs 182 crore nett and Rs 128 crore nett in Telugu and Hindi markets, respectively.
Internationally, Kalki 2898 AD has also made significant strides. Over its opening weekend, the film earned 1,247,662 rubles in Russia, 251,287 euros in Germany, 64,296 euros in Ireland, 53,300 euros in France, 43,220 krone in Norway, and 81,500 Polish zloty in Poland. In North America alone, the film raked in $11 million during its debut weekend, showcasing its global appeal and box office prowess.
Despite its impressive performance, Kalki 2898 AD is trailing behind the monumental success of Baahubali 2 in terms of pace and overall collections. Nonetheless, industry analysts predict that the film will surpass the Rs 600 crore mark worldwide today, solidifying its position as a significant blockbuster in Indian cinema.
