A couple from Ludhiana suffered minor injuries after a portion of a roof at the Hyatt Regency Hotel collapsed on them in southwest Delhi.
According to a police statement, the RK Puram police station received a PCR call around 8:56 PM on July 1, reporting a roof collapse and injuries to a husband and wife staying at the Hyatt Regency.
According to the police, Amit Jain (42) and his wife Reva Jain (32) were standing near the swimming pool on the ground floor, when a portion of a shed collapsed, causing minor head injuries.
“When a police team reached the spot, it found that the injured had already been shifted to Fortis hospital, Vasant Kunj,” the police said.
They added that the scene underwent a forensic examination. Exhibits were lifted and videographed according to procedure. The couple has not yet filed a complaint. Further necessary actions will be taken in accordance with the law.
The police stated that the couple, who are from Ludhiana in Punjab, run a business in Chandigarh. They frequently visit Delhi and stay at the Hyatt Regency.
A senior police officer reported that the couple was discharged from the hospital after receiving first aid.
Hyatt Regency did not provide an immediate response when contacted.
