The official spokesperson said,” RVNL engineers are bracing up fixing work for Pier No 288 with the collaboration with the state government. Work on Pier No. 289, situated in the Metropolitan area, is also under development by taking care of all necessary safety measures in place.”
The new Garia-Beleghata section of the New Garia-Airport route is spread over 10 km long and is likely to commence functioning from the current fiscal year. Meanwhile, to enhance connectivity and alleviate traffic jams, construction work is currently ongoing in New Town and Rajarhat townships. The development of the 28.90 km Orange Line Corridor of the Kolkata Metro is rapidly progressing. Notable progress has been made across the New Town to Airport corridor segment. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the metro services between Kavi Subhash and Hemanta Mukhopadhyaya stations in March.
